The Suwannee Valley Community Foundation is an affiliate fund of The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, and is governed by a local advisory board. We provide guidance for the Advisory Board, as well as administrative services for grantmaking, and we help develop new philanthropy for the region.

Since its inception in 2002, the Suwannee Valley Community Foundation has been actively engaging donors and making grants. It has established organizational endowments for the Rotary Club of Lake City and the United Way of Suwannee Valley, and it has created The Columbia County Senior Services Fund. It has also attracted several endowments which are unrestricted, meaning the earnings from the endowments are able to be invested wherever the Advisory Board discovers needs. The Suwannee Valley Community Foundation is an affiliate fund of The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, and is governed by a local advisory board. In 2012, The Suwannee Valley Community Foundation was able to respond to the flooding caused by Tropical Storm Debby with targeted grants to pay rent deposits for displaced residents. Other 2012 grants were made to construct and improve three parks in the region, and a variety of health and human service agencies.
