Our Impact
The Beaches Community Fund supports nonprofit organizations serving the Beaches communities from Mayport to Guana, east of the Intracoastal Waterway
Northeast Florida’s beaches are beautiful, diverse and vibrant ecosystems, home to many caring individuals and organizations that are working together to achieve positive change. The Beaches Community Fund brings donors, nonprofits and the community together to address vital issues and create a better quality of life for all who call our beaches home. We serve Beaches communities from Mayport to Guana, east of the Intracoastal Waterway.
The Beaches Community Fund is an active membership-based group of nearly three dozen donors who are making a difference through philanthropy at the Beaches. In addition to bringing projects and programs to life through grant funds, members of the Beaches Community Fund have elevated crucial issues, funded essential research and convened elected officials, nonprofits, businesses, faith communities and others to generate impactful solutions.
Since 2013, the Beaches Community Fund has made 104 grants totaling more than $1.94 million to 36 organizations. Ranging from $5,000 to $75,000, these grants have made a remarkable difference in the lives of Beaches residents. Learn more about the Fund’s impact.
Investments in community food banks and nonprofit initiatives deliver healthy food to residents, students, military families and others in need. Ongoing support for BEAM and Feeding Northeast Florida, as well as grants to Blessings in a Backpack, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and USO of Greater Jacksonville ensure vulnerable residents do not go hungry.
Funding for the Beaches Health and Wellness Collaboration helps to keep people with chronic conditions out of the emergency room, providing affordable primary care, healthy food and follow-up visits. Through convenings and holistic solutions, the Beaches Community Fund is helping to close gaps and support ongoing collaboration and efficiency.
During the pandemic, members of the Beaches Community Fund rapidly deployed more than $100,000 in food and emergency financial assistance for neighbors who lost their jobs due to pandemic closures. Funding priorities are members-driven, and established each year.
“Becoming part of the Beaches Community Fund is the best opportunity for learning about nonprofits that help our most vulnerable residents, and the challenges they must overcome.”
– Greg Landwirth, Beaches Community Fund Member
