Since 1990, Art Ventures has made more than 225 grants to individual artists and more than 125 grants to small arts organizations.

Individual Artists

The Individual Artist Grants are designed to help Northeast Florida artists emerge to the next level of their artistic careers. 

Grants: Up to $5,000.

Grant applications are now closed. 

Individual Artists grants will open again in 2025.

Applicants must be:

 

  • At least 18 years old
  • Legal residents of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam or St. Johns County, and have resided in one of these counties for at least 12 months at the time of application
  • Requesting funding for activities which take place December 15, 2023 – June 15, 2025. No grant funds may be requested for expenditures which occur prior to December 15, 2023

Applicants may NOT be:

  • Students enrolled in an art-related degree program, or planning to pursue a degree in the coming year
  • Curators, promoters, presenters or festival organizers. Eligible applicants are the artists themselves
  • A recipient of a 2022 Art Ventures grant. Due to the high demand for grants, artists may not receive grants in consecutive years, and are only eligible to three Individual Artist grants in a lifetime.

Timeline

  • May 1, 2023: Application opens online
  • June 28, July 28, August 28 & September 12: Q&A Sessions available via Zoom 
  • September 19, 2023: Applications close at 5 PM
  • December 4, 2023: Grant awards announced
  • December 15, 2023: Grant period begins
  • June 15, 2025: Grant period ends

Grant applications cycle every other year. The next cycle will be in 2025.
