Northeast Florida Resilience Fund Launches with $1 Million for Grants

JACKSONVILLE, FL – A anonymous fundholder at The Community Foundation has established the Northeast Florida Resilience Fund with a lead gift of $1 million to strengthen the capacity and resilience of the region’s nonprofit sector through collaboration, coordination, and targeted resources.

“Philanthropy alone cannot completely fill gaps from public sector funding shifts, but it can make strategic, thoughtful investments to support nonprofits to adapt for the future,” said Foundation President Isaiah M. Oliver. “I’m grateful to the anonymous donor who established this fund and set the vision for its focus.”

The Community Foundation’s program staff has developed a grantmaking process informed by the national philanthropic field, local nonprofits, and centered in the donor’s intentions. The goal is to help nonprofit organizations develop ways to sustain mission-critical activities and create sustainable paths for long-term success.

Grants of up to $50,000 will benefit nonprofits in the six-county Northeast Florida region: Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns. Applications open on August 27 and close on September 30 with grant decisions announced in early December. Organizations that match specific eligibility criteria are invited to apply. To apply, read the grant guidelines and FAQs here.

“The Community Foundation is deeply committed to leveraging the generosity of donors to bring meaningful opportunities to build stronger, more sustainable futures for our nonprofit partners,” said Amy Crane, Vice President of Programs.

The fund is open to contributions from other donors who wish to support local nonprofits through this strategic grantmaking effort. To discuss how you can support the Fund, reach out to John Zell, Senior Vice President of Development, at jzell@jaxcf.org.
