"What key attributes do you want people to use when describing WGA 10 years from now?" This was the question posed during our Annual meeting on October 20th. Attendees and participants, both in-person and virtual, answered to create a word cloud, a visual collection of these key attributes.

As the year comes to a close, we reflect on these key attributes and our impact together with our cherished members, partners, grantees and friends. We celebrate all that's been accomplished in the last 20 years including:

  • Awarded $7.7 million dollars in grants to 68 nonprofit agencies
  • Invested in and touched the lives of more than 30,000 women and girls in Northeast Florida
  • Built an endowment of more than $5.6 million to ensure our work continues
  • Brought together more than 1,000 civic-minded women to become WGA members and strategic philanthropists

We are enthusiastic about what the future holds! Happy holidays and cheers to an exciting year ahead!

Member Contribution Reallocation Passed!
Thank you WGA members, for voting for the reallocation of member contributions! The proposal overwhelmingly passed with 98% in favor after 2/3 of membership cast their ballots. This change will keep everyone's annual contribution amount the same ($1,500/year), strengthen our commitment to our grants pool and operating expenses, and will continue to grow our $5.6 million endowment.
Year-End Giving Benefits WGA
As we approach the end of the calendar year, many of us think about year-end giving. Not only is it the holiday season of gift-giving, but it’s also the time to consider charitable contributions for 2021 tax-deductions.

There are several ways to benefit WGA with your year-end giving. For example:

  • Make your 2022 annual WGA membership gift now;
  • Make an extra contribution to the Grants Pool, Operations, or the Endowment;
  • Become a Legacy Member by endowing your WGA membership for life (more information here);
  • Donate your Required Minimum Distribution from your IRA;
  • Make a contribution from your Donor Advised Fund, establish a gift annuity, or give appreciated stock;
  • Consider your end-of-life legacy. Could you continue your support of WGA even after your death?

Lucky for us, Joanne Cohen, Vice President Philanthropic Services at the Community Foundation, is ready to assist. Reach out to Joanne at 904-356-4483 or for a confidential conversation.

As you know, our Stronger Together Celebration on March 24th is being held at Rethreaded's new facility in historic Springfield. Rethreaded has two large outdoor areas in need of quality outdoor furniture. If you have a quality set you would like to donate, please contact Barb Wenger at 904 859-4563.
