Celebrating Fifty Years

Share this post:

The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida is celebrating 50 years of Giving Back | Giving Forward. On November 17, 2014 hundreds of individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations with funds at The Community Foundation came together to celebrate what’s been accomplished since its establishment in 1964.

The evening included a salute to The Community Foundation’s Legacy Society—those donors who have left a gift to The Community Foundation in their will or estate plan. The hundreds of fundholders who attended enjoyed the beautiful riverfront views from the Alfred I. duPont Testatmentary Trust building, and were treated to a video that showcased The Community Foundation’s growth in both assets and impact over the years. A highlight of the evening was awarding William E. (Bill) Scheu The Prize for Civic Engagement for his tireless work to bring peaceful resolution to so many contentious issues in Northeast Florida over the years.

Board chairman Bill Brinton and President Nina Waters presented the award at our 50th anniversary party!
