Grant applications are open to nonprofit organizations whose primary focus is to provide services and resources to improve the quality of life for residents experiencing food and basic needs insecurity. These grants may also support agencies serving disabled persons in Northeast Florida. 

Program Support Grants to Address Food and Basic Needs Insecurity

Grants are available to assist with providing services and resources, such as clothing, food, or other support to help residents meet their basic needs. Applications will also be accepted from agencies providing support for people with disabilities. The grant request amount ranges are from $10,000 to $20,000, depending on the organization’s annual operating budget (see below).

Grant Size:

The maximum grant request amount ranges from $10,000 to $20,000, depending on the organization’s annual operating budget.

  • Organizations with budgets between $100,000-$250,000 are eligible to apply for up to $10,000
  • Organizations with budgets over $250,000 are eligible to apply for up to $20,000

Eligibility:

  • Organizations serving residents experiencing food and basic needs insecurity
  • Organizations providing supports for people with disabilities
  • Nonprofit organizations with current 501(c)(3) public charity or private operating foundation status, or religious institution
  • 2-year work history
  • Annual operating budget of $100,000 or above.
  • Located in and serving one of these counties: Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, St. Johns

We are not able to fund:

  • Athletic associations
  • Fundraising event sponsorships
  • Programs promoting religious beliefs*
  • Schools (public, private and charter) and school-based organizations (PTAs, boosters, etc)
  • Requests outside our region (Applicants must be in: Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, St. Johns counties)

*Grants may be made to faith-based organizations for the non-religious programs offered to the broader community

Timeline

  • January 6, 2026: Grants application opens in the Grantee Portal
  • January 13, 2026 – February 27, 2026: Program staff are available for appointments in-person, virtually, or by phone to answer your questions. Please submit your appointment request here.
  • March 4, 2026: Applications due by 11:59 PM
  • June 1, 2026: Grants recipients notified
  • June 1, 2026 – May 31, 2027: Grant-funded projects must occur within this timeframe.
