Building Non-Profit Capacity
We work with scores of non-profit organizations every year, and know that they each face challenges and opportunities that can seem daunting. By supporting their ability to execute their missions, we can advance the goals of our donors and the recipients of their funding.
When The Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida launched an initiative supporting effective collaboration through communications, networking, innovative tools and increased organizational capacity, The Community Foundation was right there to support the effort.
We provided major support to “Moving Forward Together,” largely through a generous grant from the Jessie Ball DuPont Fund.
In early 2012, The Link, an online platform that provides data, maps, links and resources on the nonprofit sector in Northeast Florida was launched. It allows users to identify individual nonprofits, map the location of nonprofits and search for cohorts of nonprofits by type, field of interest, political subdivision and other factors.
The Link provides a way for nonprofits to find each other, to share resources, to communicate about projects and to advocate more effectively.
“At the end of the day, Northeast Florida's nonprofits will be more prepared to survive and thrive in a post-recession landscape, better equipped to respond to fiscal, political, and environmental challenges, and significantly more united in their support for and connection to each other and the communities they serve."
- Rena Coughlin, president of the Nonprofit Center -
