These grants are available to assist with improving the quality of life in Putnam County by promoting educational opportunities, eliminating food insecurity, supporting veterans, and promoting the general welfare of Putnam County residents.

Program Support Grants for Putnam County

Grants to assist with improving the quality of life in Putnam County. The maximum grant request is $25,000. Requests can be made for one or two years. The total for a two-year request cannot exceed $25,000. Grant projects are typically funded in, but not limited to, the focus areas listed below.

Additional Grant Opportunity: The Community Foundation is currently fielding inquiries from Putnam County nonprofits that serve children and youth ages 8–18 and are seeking $10,000–$15,000 for facilities, equipment, or supplies. To learn more, contact Reagan Bass at rbass@jaxcf.org.

Grant requests may be made for one or two years. The maximum grant request is $25,000. The total for a two-year request cannot exceed $25,000. Grant projects are typically funded in, but not limited to, the Focus Areas below.

 

Focus areas typically funded: 

  • Support and expand safety net programs serving Putnam County.
  • Improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, including Veterans and First Responders with service-related disabilities.
  • Expand access to quality programs for children and youth focused on academic progress, physical well-being, emotional health and related positive youth development areas. 

Additional notes:

  • Projects should be serving Putnam County exclusively.
  • Each organization may only submit one project for consideration. Most grants will be awarded in $5,000-$10,000 range, with larger grants available to support bigger projects.
  • Funding is not intended to provide ongoing operational support. Organizations which do not currently have an open grant with The Community Foundation will be prioritized.

Eligibility for Nonprofit Organizations:

  • Nonprofit organizations with current 501(c)(3) public charity or private operating foundation status, or religious institution
  • 2-year work history
  • Serving Putnam County

We are not able to fund:

  • Fundraising event sponsorships
  • School fundraising organizations (PTAs, boosters, etc)
  • Programs promoting religious beliefs*
  • Requests to provide services outside of Putnam County

*Grants may be made to faith-based organizations for the non-religious programs offered to the broader community

Timeline

  • January 6, 2026: Grants application opens in the Grantee Portal.
  • January 13, 2026 – February 27, 2026: Assistance is available from our grantmaking staff. If you need assistance with applying—either in-person, virtual, or by phone—please submit your appointment request here.
  • March 4, 2026: Applications due by 11:59 PM
  • June 1, 2026: Grant recipients notified
  • June 1, 2026 – May 31, 2028: Grant-funded projects must occur within this timeframe
