Making More Good Possible

Stimulating Philanthropy to Build A Better Community

The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida serves the citizens of Duval, St. Johns, Nassau, Baker, Clay and Putnam counties. We partner with individuals, families, organizations and businesses who are determined to make a difference with their philanthropic gifts. And we engage our community to make it stronger and better for everyone. That’s the power of Giving Forward.

Working to Improve Life in Northeast Florida for All

Our work is much more than serving as a repository for donor funds, as important as that work is. We have a strong history and commitment to changing our communities, for building bridges between people who are committed to making the world a better place and the causes to which they are dedicated. Learn more about some of our key focus areas below.

Supporting Neighborhoods

We work with residents and their trusted local organizations on issues like blight, reducing homelessness, economic development and building generational wealth.

A.L. Lewis Fund

We support a collective giving initiative that focuses on enhancing education, economic development and healthcare for historically marginalized citizens.

Affordable Housing

We make grants and connect donors to affordable housing initiatives, and invest local capital to help bring more units to market.

Arts

We nurture individual artists and small arts organizations with annual grantmaking and provide opportunities for greater participation for the wider community.

Donors Forum

Donors Forum brings together our fundholders, as well as representatives of private, corporate, independent and family foundations in Northeast Florida, to learn about community and philanthropic issues.

Women’s Giving Alliance

We support the Women’s Giving Alliance, a collective giving initiative that is making a measurable and lasting impact on the lives of women and girls in Northeast Florida.

“…Giving money away thoughtfully is hard work, but if you do the due diligence and you have passion and compassion, you can be a philanthropist at any level.”

2024 Report to the Community

If our annual report had a soundtrack, it might include Stevie Wonder’s 1976 song “Love’s in Need of Love Today.” The message is simple yet powerful: for love to grow, it must be nurtured. What better analogy for philanthropy in our community? Every grant we make is a reflection of a donor’s love of community, amplified through time and space.
