Bruce and Judy Homeyer – Adapting to a New Home
In October 2002, Bruce and Judy Homeyer moved to Jacksonville from Charlotte, North Carolina where they had lived for 25 years. After working in the textiles industry for 43 years and as a consultant for five years, the Homeyers wanted to move closer to their family. Jacksonville was the ideal location because their children were located in Jacksonville, North Palm Beach, Florida, and Charleston, South Carolina. In addition, they were attracted to the climate, the river and the beach.

The Van Vlecks – From Donors to Philanthropists
During their lifetime, Joan and Jim Van Vleck have grown from disciplined charitable donors to enthusiastic philanthropists, in good part through the help of community foundations. Today they are using The Community Foundation in Jacksonville as a tool to pass that philanthropic enthusiasm on to their children and grandchildren.
